_i've been making mini's off and on for close to a decade. scary i know. sort of fuzzy on when it all transpired: 96? 98? if you count the hand drawn comics i tried to sneak in and place next to superman in the grocery store. let's not. whatever. a long friggin' time. in that span of time there were always a couple of worlds I went back to. namely guston and spb. very little of it saw print. a highlight earlier in the decade was winning an award for one of my self-published works: misa.

_since that time i've slowly expanded to prints, webcomics and tshirts. i've bounced back and forth on pod services. if i get off my butt, you may also see graphic novels as well. everything's been on a slow burn. the comics are all hand stapled. either coming in the ashcan format (5,5 x 8.5) or in the max format (8 x11).

_most comics will roll out simultaneously as a webcomic and offered in print. all stories are headed toward collection down the road in a trade / ogn format. i've put some thought into this and pod currently seems like the only viable solution for my ogn's. indy friendly shops are rare within the current dm. they're a rare and precious breed. should any perspective publisher want to contact me for a nice offset version, i won't turn you away. you can either hit me up at my etsy shop, at a show or any store willing to buy my stuff. on very rare occasions do i ever deal in consignment. i accept all retailer discounts.

I HAVE ABOUT THREE OR FOUR CONCEPTS THAT I THINK I'M GOING TO GO BACK TO SELF-PUBLISHING INSTEAD OF SHOPPING IT AROUND. ONE OF THEM IS BOUND TO EITHER BE SERIALIZED ON HERE THEN COLLECTED INTO A TRADE ON LULU.COM. AFTER 5 YEARS OF GOING THROUGH THE INS AND OUTS OF THE SMALLER PUBLISHING REALM, I STAND BY THIS DECISION. IN THE FUTURE, I MAY TRY PITCH ONE OF THEM. IF I'M EVER APPROACHED BY AN EDITOR, ABSOLUTELY I'LL ENTERTAIN THE IDEA.

ONE OF THESE CONCEPTS IS GUSTON, WHICH YES I'M STILL WORKING ON. AS KEITH RICHARDS ONCE SAID, 'YOU CAN'T RUSH ART BABE.' SOME COLLABORATIONS, FREELANCE AND WELL.. LIFE HAVE HELPED TO DELAY THIS FOR A WICKEDLY LONG TIME.

Guston Phillips: Hide. coming to the sundays page in 2009, Guston also appeared in my late nineties minis (Crash Comics). pretty much abandoned till now. i've been working up a whole world/plotline that will eventually result in an OGN series. A preview page will be forthcoming.
